Purpose

Rings

Fabric loops
Short folded fabric bands, often called webbing tabs, connect the fittings to the bag.

Loop length
Short loops hold fittings close to the bag. Longer loops give you more room to reach and move the clip.

Why choose it?
A clip keeps a small pouch within easy reach instead of loose inside a larger bag. You can unclip it when you need it and reattach it afterwards. Choose a swivel clip when the pouch needs freedom to turn, or a simple fabric loop and carabiner for a removable connection. A D ring works well when the strap already has its own clip.

Things to consider
Match the fitting’s weight to the fabric: a heavy metal clip can pull a lightweight pouch out of shape. The loop, stitching, and bag fabric must support the contents together; a strong clip alone does not make the bag strong. Mesh and thin fabrics may need reinforcement. Keep attachment tabs clear of the zipper or drawstring channel, and allow enough space to open the clip comfortably.

Customization options
Options include metal or plastic fittings, different clip shapes, and matching or contrasting colors. Fabric loops can use flat woven webbing or folded bag fabric. Their width must fit the fitting’s attachment opening. For construction, stitch both loop ends into a seam, or secure them onto the bag with reinforcement stitching entirely over the fabric.
