Why choose it?
Cord locks make a drawstring closure adjustable without repeatedly tying and untying knots. They are useful for bags opened frequently, allowing the user to loosen the opening, access the contents and tighten it again. Plastic gives a lightweight, practical appearance, while metal can add a more substantial decorative detail to gift and accessory pouches.

Things to consider
The lock must suit the cord’s thickness, texture and number of strands. An opening that is too tight makes adjustment difficult, while a poorly matched lock may slip. Button size and spring resistance also affect handling. Metal generally adds more weight than a similarly sized plastic component, which can pull on delicate fabrics. For washable bags, check the complete component, including its spring and finish. A cord lock holds the drawstring in position. Closing the lock does not make a bag watertight or tamper-proof.
