Why choose it?
This velvet combines the soft, light-catching surface associated with velvet with a more structured feel. It does not collapse or drape as freely as softer velvet, which can be useful for drawstring bags and pouches that need a little more body. The pile also gives simple bag designs a richer visual appearance without requiring additional decoration.

Things to consider
This is not a fluid, flowing velvet. The fabric is relatively thin but slightly stiff, so it forms firmer folds and gathers around drawstring closures. The pile can also change appearance depending on the direction of the fibers and the way light hits the surface.
